Thor is a successful American superhero film that did terrific business not only nationwide but overseas too. Thor walks on the path that is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Thor is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) which is an American media franchise and which shares fictional universe whose pivotal circle is based on a series of superhero films, is the father of this third installment titled Thor: Ragnarok.
Thor: Ragnarok will be one epic superhero movie, directed by Kenneth Branagh, written by Ashley Edward Miller & Zack Stentz and Don Payne. The pivotal character of Thor 3 Ragnarok is played by Chris Hemsworth, and it also stars Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Colm Feore, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. Thor 3 movie is the story of Thor, the crown prince of Asgard, who is exiled from his homeland to Earth. Thor is here on Earth to stop his adopted brother Loki, who has the intention of becoming the new king of Asgard.
The thought of adapting the character of Thor, and bringing this comic character to reality was the idea of Sam Raimi. He first developed this though in 1991, but soon left the project and left it in a development mode for several years. It was Matthew Vaughn who was initially appointed as the director of Thor movie for a tentative 2010 release. Things did not go well with Vaughn, as was decided and he had to give up the direction of Thor in 2008. After Vaughn’s disapproval, it was Branagh who was approached and due to this shifting the film’s release was rescheduled into 2011.
The first part of Thor was then premiered on April 17, 2011, in Sydney, Australia and was successfully released on May 6, 2011, in the United States. Thor stood on the expectations of its makers and the film managed to earn oodles of money on the box office. Thor film was also welcomed by the critics and it received positive reviews from film critics. Seeing such success, the makers planned to release a second installment of Thor titled Thor: The Dark World, which was released on November 8, 2013. And now there will be a third sequel to the film, Thor 3: Ragnarok that will be released on November 3, 2017.
It was in 2011 that the debut world premiere of the first series of Thor took place on April 17, 2011. Thor was premiered at the Event Cinemas theater in George Street, Sydney. The U.S. premiere took place on May 2, 2011, at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, California. The event was grand and was hosted by Isaiah Mustafa and streamed live on Marvel’s official website. The film premiered on April 21, 2011, in Australia, and on May 6, 2011, in the United States.
What was completely unexpected was the box office collections of Thor. Thor earned $181.0 million in North America and $268.3 million in other territories and made a collective worldwide total of $449.3 million. It was also the 15th highest- grossing film of 2011. We eagerly await Thor 3 Ragnarok that will release on November 3, 2017.
